A couple of weeks ago, I hosted my colleague and friend Jessica Tatiana Morales from Uruguay at UC Davis. Tatiana works a assistant scientist in the Dairy production division at INIA (Instituto Nacional de Investigación Agropecuaria). Besides reproduction, her research interests include dairy cattle welfare - topic that led us to hours of non-stop discussion.
I met her when we were both at the beginning of grad school in 2010. First, Tatiana came to LETA (Brazil) in a exchange program financed by the Uruguayan Government. Later that year we ran into each other again when I went to the Uruguay (UdelaR) to conduct part of my Master's studies. Since then we have been in touch, and finally we were able to meet each other again. Looking for our next meeting, hopefully in Uruguay!
